October 26, 2019 - Huda Usman won 1st place during the Undergraduate Poster Competition at the 2019 AfroBioTech Conference (AIChE). She presented a poster entitled: Nanocultures: Controlled Microbial Communities in Sessile Drops.
October 11, 2019 - Eloise and Nna-Emeka published their first scientific article entitled: Electrochemical Strategy for Eradicating Fluconazole-Tolerant Candida albicans Using Implantable Titanium in ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces. https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acsami.9b09977

October 29, 2018- Serena won the first place during the Undergraduate Poster Competition at the 2018 AIChE Annual Meeting, under the category of Food, Pharmaceutical, and Biotechnology. She presented a poster entitled "Toxicity of Carbon Nanotube Adsorbed Silk Membranes Against Pseudomonas aeruginosa". Congratulation, Evah!

He presented a poster entitled "Electrical Enhancement of Efficacy of Antifungal Drug in Killing Candida albicans". Congratulation, Emeka!

July 31, 2018- ChemE Undergraduates Take Their Research to Italy. Erin Hunter and Nick Waters are highlighted on the Pitt Cheme Website for their participation at the 2018 Gordon Research Seminar on Biointerface Science. Erin and Nick received travel supports from GRS and the Honors College, respectively. Congrats!
July 27, 2018- Dr. Niepa wins the Pre-PhD Best Mentor Award.
June 17, 2018- Dr. Niepa co-chaired the 2018 Gordon Research Conference on Biointerface Sciences in Lucca, Italy. He also led a panel discussion entitled Preparing for a Career in Science: From Applications to Writing Paper. The panel included professors Joanna Aizenberg (Harvard University, USA), William Wagner (University of Pittsburgh, USA, and Lorenzo Albertazzi (Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia, Spain).
